Thank Your Government Approved Deity

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

President Obama took a break from the golf course to tell us that on Dec 25th (also known as Christmas Day) an alleged suspect allegedly tried to detonate an alleged explosive device on a plane bound for Detroit, MI.  The device failed and the suspect is in custody.

In a related story; Janet Napolitano alleged head of Homeland Security reported the day after the alleged non-incident that “the system worked.”

Well, isn’t that reassuring.  What a bunch of buffoons.

Nobel Peace Prize

Nobel Peace Prize

Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize shocked Nobel observers.  For one thing, he took office less than two weeks before the February 1 nomination deadline.  Some say Mr Obama had been given the prize prematurely and that he has much work to do if he was to live up to the award

Praise for Mr. Obama is flowing in from around the world:

Hisham Qasim, Egyptian democracy and human rights activist, said he was “shocked” Obama won.  “He has achieved nothing. He’s stumbling. He hasn’t achieved any of his promises and nothing is working.”

Gideon Rachman, a foreign affairs columnist for The Financial Times;  “I doubt that I am alone in wondering whether this award is slightly premature.  It is hard to point to a single place where Obama’s efforts have actually brought about peace – Gaza, Iran, Sri Lanka?”

Hamas official Ahmed Yousef – “It is early for him to be awarded this prize.  The president has done nothing to push forward peace between Israeli and Palestinians.”

Polish leader Lech Walesa – “Who, Obama? So fast?  Too fast — he hasn’t had the time to do anything yet.”

Obama also gets $1.3 million dollars!  This windfall bonus is obscene and excessive and I expect that Obama will be redistributing it to the American people.

9-12 Rally In Washington D.C.

Monday, September 14th, 2009

According to the state run media somewhere between two dozen and 1.5 million people gathered at the Washington D.C. Mall to protest a myriad of things that the federal government is ramming down our throats.

9-12_634x330

I don’t know how to estimate big crowds but I spoke to a police officer there; I had thanked him for being there to keep us safe, anyway, he said it was the largest group he had ever seen there for any event.

I found the whole thing to be quite emotionally stirring.  There are so many wonderful Patriots in our country – it’s just heart warming.

The state run media seems to have abandoned its principles and simply not report on this important event.

I’m just really proud to be one of these Patriots.

Obamas Speech To School Kids

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Thee was a big stink made about Obama’s plan to make a speech to school children this morning; the first day of school for many districts.  Most of the flap was over his original lesson plan for teachers that had the kids setting goals and seemed to leave the kids accountable to the president.  Then there was a video that one Utah school had shown last week.  That video highlighted a variety of celebrities pledging to do one thing or another and ended with a chorus of all of them pledging to serve the president.  It’s really creepy.

Well, the speech is over and what ever version was used today was just fine.  It was all about the kids taking responsibility for themselves.  To work hard, persevere, be respectful of teachers and parents.

But at the end of the day, the circumstances of your life – what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, what you’ve got going on at home – that’s no excuse for neglecting your homework or having a bad attitude. That’s no excuse for talking back to your teacher, or cutting class, or dropping out of school. That’s no excuse for not trying.
Where you are right now doesn’t have to determine where you’ll end up. No one’s written your destiny for you. Here in America, you write your own destiny. You make your own future.

I have no beef with the words, the tone, the message – it’s great!  I wish Obama would bring the same attitude and rhetoric to his policies.

I think there’s one important thing to be learned from the whole episode;

A big group of the American public don’t trust Obama; at least not enough to let him talk to their kids.  Given the inconsistency of his message, I understand why.

Let’s see how he squares all this personal responsibility talk with his message to the joint session of congress tomorrow; speaking about government health care.

Enough is Enough Harry!

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

harry-reidThree cheers for the Las Vegas Review Journal!

There are still some newspapers that are NOT state run propaganda machines and actually report the news.  What a concept!  I hope it catches on.

Anyway, Harry Reid doesn’t like the honest scrutiny of the Las Vegas Review Journal and put his foot in mouth when visiting his home state yesterday.

Here’s an article written by Sherman Frederick of the Las Vegas Review Journal to explain;

This newspaper traces its roots to before Las Vegas was Las Vegas.

We’ve seen cattle ranches give way to railroads. We chronicled the construction of Hoover Dam. We reported on the first day of legalized gambling. The first hospital. The first school. The first church. We survived the mob, Howard Hughes, the Great Depression, several recessions, two world wars, dozens of news competitors and any number of two-bit politicians who couldn’t stand scrutiny, much less criticism.
We’re still here doing what we do for the people of Las Vegas and Nevada. So, let me assure you, if we weathered all of that, we can damn sure outlast the bully threats of Sen. Harry Reid.

On Wednesday, before he addressed a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Reid joined the chamber’s board members for a meet-’n'-greet and a photo. One of the last in line was the Review-Journal’s director of advertising, Bob Brown, a hard-working Nevadan who toils every day on behalf of advertisers. He has nothing to do with news coverage or the opinion pages of the Review-Journal.

Yet, as Bob shook hands with our senior U.S. senator in what should have been nothing but a gracious business setting, Reid said: “I hope you go out of business.”

Later, in his public speech, Reid said he wanted to let everyone know that he wants the Review-Journal to continue selling advertising because the Las Vegas Sun is delivered inside the Review-Journal.

Such behavior cannot go unchallenged.

You could call Reid’s remark ugly and be right. It certainly was boorish. Asinine? That goes without saying.

But to fully capture the magnitude of Reid’s remark (and to stop him from doing the same thing to others) it must be called what it was — a full-on threat perpetrated by a bully who has forgotten that he was elected to office to protect Nevadans, not sound like he’s shaking them down.

No citizen should expect this kind of behavior from a U.S. senator. It is certainly not becoming of a man who is the majority leader in the U.S. Senate. And it absolutely is not what anyone would expect from a man who now asks Nevadans to send him back to the Senate for a fifth term.

If he thinks he can push the state’s largest newspaper around by exacting some kind of economic punishment in retaliation for not seeing eye to eye with him on matters of politics, I can only imagine how he pressures businesses and individuals who don’t have the wherewithal of the Review-Journal.

For the sake of all who live and work in Nevada, we can’t let this bully behavior pass without calling out Sen. Reid. If he’ll try it with the Review-Journal, you can bet that he’s tried it with others. So today, we serve notice on Sen. Reid that this creepy tactic will not be tolerated.

We won’t allow you to bully us. And if you try it with anyone else, count on going through us first.

That’s a promise, not a threat.

And it’s a promise to our readers, not to you, Sen. Reid.

Tacky Kennedy Funeral Service

Monday, August 31st, 2009

tedennyJust when you think people couldn’t sink any lower or display greater moral bankruptcy Ted Kennedy’s funeral service comes along.

Oh, I expected the state run media to be endlessly lavishing praise on Kennedy.  I assumed that attending democrats to use the event to promote socialized healthcare.  But I never imagined that these low-life cretons could stoop to sending Ted’s grandchildren to the podium to offer a political speech.

I think it’s wonderful if the kids want to offer a prayer of intercession of thier own, from thier heart, about Grampa, but the grownups decide to make them into democrat puppets.  One of the grandchildrens’ lines ended with the ”cause of his life to see every American have decent quality health care as a fundamental right and not a privilege.”

That’s bad enough but in doing so, the child has announced that Ted has conferred a new right to the American people.  Up until now the rights of American people were bestowed upon us by God.  It’s supposed to be the government’s job to assure that those rights of the American people are protected.  But, neither the government, Obama, nor even Ted Kennedy can confer rights to anybody.

Controversial anti-Obama ad pulled | Spero News

Golly-whiz, it’s almost like ABC and NBC are working with an oppressive dictatorship to keep information from the public!

The ABC and NBC networks refused to show an advertisement criticizing President Obama’s health care reform plan. ABC aired a special report in June on healthcare that was hosted at the White House.

Sponsored by the League of American Voters, the ad features neurosurgeon Mark J. Cuffe MD who warns that a government-run health care system will lead to the rationing of procedures and medicine. It began airing weeks ago on local affiliates of ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS, but  ABC and NBC have refused to run the spot nationally.

“It’s a powerful ad,” said Bob Adams, executive director of the League of American Voters, a national nonprofit group with 15,000 members who advocate individual liberty and government accountability. “It tells the truth and it really highlights one of the biggest vulnerabilities and problems with this proposed legislation, which is it rations health care and disproportionately will decimate the quality of health care for seniors.”

“The ABC Television Network has a long-standing policy that we do not sell time for advertising that presents a partisan position on a controversial public issue,” spokeswoman Susan Sewell said in a written statement. “Just to be clear, this is a policy for the entire network, not just ABC News.”  NBC says it may consider it if revised.  (TorchandandFork Editorial Note: I guess Susan Sewer forgot to mention that ABC is happy to give time away to the dictator they support.)

Ted is Dead

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Ted Kennedy died earlier today.

In related news, premium scotch distillers are expected to announce significant layoffs due to due to dramatic declining sales.

I’m just glad I’ve got a DVR because I expect the state run media to be wall to wall Ted while they drag his fat ass from place to place presumably to prove to all the “villagers” that the arrogant, lying, smug, murdering ass-wipe is truly dead.

Are All Western Governments Led By Pussies?

Monday, August 24th, 2009

In 2001, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, a Libyan, was convicted of involvement in the bombing and sentenced to life imprisonment. On 20 August 2009, the Scottish Government released him on compassionate grounds to return to Libya as he was suffering from terminal prostate cancer and had a life expectancy of less than 3 months.PA103cockpit4

The dude got a life sentence; why is it a surprise to the Scots that he would have died in prison?

This is so stupid – I feel badly for the families and friends of the people that were murdered on that plane;  it’s got to be like having to relive the whole thing over again.

Our own government has released a bunch of terrorists that had been imprisoned in Guantanemo.  To add insult to injury, they sent some of them to Bermuda!  I’m not kidding, there were pictures of them frolicking on the beach!

Meanwhile, the Justice Department’s ethics office has recommended reopening nearly a dozen cases of prisoner abuse, potentially exposing CIA employees and contractors to prosecution.  The cases needed to re-opened becasue they had already been closed because nobody did anything wrong!  That’s right, we’re going to prosecute CIA men/women for doing their job, protecting the United States.

This stuff just doesn’t make sense!

Obama accuses healthcare critics of “bearing false witness”

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Obama called on his Obama-tron minions to organize a conference call with liberal minded religious leaders yesterday.  Obama flipped into ‘holy-mode” and accused critics of Obama-care of “bearing false witness”.  OBAMA/

I’ve got to admit, this guy has gnads; using church speak to call American citizens liars while lying himself to the church people!  Obama really does have that audacity thing working.

I wonder how god-boy justifies his own false witnessing.  Here’s a good one that also broke yesterday.  Remember when we all wanted the government to authorize drilling for oil last year.  That’s when all the democrats told us how oil is bad, wind is good and Nacny Pelosi has been blowing hot air ever since!  Well apparently oil isn’t so bad that they couldn’t lend $2 billion dollars to their pal George Soros for his Brazilian oil drilling company.
